Final Ideas

Narrative choice: I decided to do a love narrative, where a couple goes separate ways. I thought this was a common plot in other 'Indie' music videos, such as the ones I have analyzed previously. However, the original video follows a similar storyline it has a lot more to do with politics and fame, rather than just love itself.

Models:

Lauren Stevens
I chose Lauren to play the female love interest in my music video. Lauren was good choice because her vintage look following her fashion and dramatic makeup. Lauren, who is very into dramatic performance had high interest in acting in my music video, so she was a natural choice.

Outfit: For Lauren, I wanted to avoid her outfit being overly feminin because I felt she needed to be strong and independent as she was the one who appeared to be ending the relationship. So doing some prior research into vintage clothing, I found that high waisted shorts were popular and I made the rest of her outfit very dark, with black tights and a black top, opposing to Gabriel.
Also the large fur coat was also to add the vintage impact, along with the many rings, also meant to represent wealth.

Gabriel Roels:

For the male love interest, I chose Gabriel. Although he has a lacking in a theatre background, him and Lauren knew each other, so the chemistry between them wouldn't look fake or acted.

Outfit: For his outfit, I wanted to remain with the vintage theme so I put him in ripped, denim jeans similar to those in the video. I also put him in a colourful, striped shirt as I thought it contrasted with the natural light and naturist locations. Making him stand out against the greens and blues of the seaside and forest.
For the throwing paint scenes, I put them both in white t-shirts, symbolising and associating them as a couple but also so the paint would stand out against the plain colours, a opposite of what I did with the other outfits.
