All the music videos I have analysed are to promote the artist and their music. Also, they are all of a similar, 'Indie' genre because that is what I am basing my own music video on.
The first video I did was 'Sweater Weather', this is very generic compared to the other video's I have analysed. However what makes it different to the others is the ending of it. Closer to finish of the video, the camera angle turns upside down and their logo appears, however you wouldn't necessarily know it was their logo unless you were a fan. This technique is not something I have found in many music videos.
The second video I did was 'Breeze blocks'. The reason I choose this video was because of how unique it was. The whole video is filmed backwards, and I have not seen any other video do this. By showing the audience the ending before the beginning, it makes them want to watch the rest of the video.
The third video I analysed was 'Zombie'. The reason I choose this video was because it was different yet similar to other music videos. It appears to be an average performance video until the, much the lyrics, the band members begin to turn into zombies. This video is like any other performance music video, but with it very own unique twist.
The fourth video I analysed was 'Now' . This is one of my favourite music videos because I like the concept behind it and I am even using the idea of throwing powder paint in my own music video. This video is different to the other videos I have analysed because it have a strong key narrative that love conquers all.
And the final video I analysed was 'Riptide'. I did this video because this is the actual song I have chosen to use for my music video, and I wanted to analysis it to compare to my own video when I have made it. Although I love this song, the music video is not my favourite because I don't like the way it depicts exactly what the lyrics is saying. However,I do like the use of retro clothing as it adds to the 'Indie' feeling.
